Project Brief

Therukoothu, Tamil Nadu’s street-theatre tradition, has always been booked by word of mouth: someone knows a troupe, who knows another troupe. Book My Koothu set out to change that by giving families, temples, event planners and companies one place to find authentic folk-art performers for weddings, festivals, corporate events and community gatherings, and by giving the artists a steady, visible source of bookings.

Challenging

The platform had to serve two very different audiences at once. Event hosts needed to understand art forms they may never have booked before, see who performs them and trust that the booking and payment would be handled properly. Artists, many of them from rural troupes, needed a simple way to join and showcase their work. On top of that, every page had to carry the colour, drama and cultural weight of the art form without becoming hard to use on a phone.

Solutions

Click Worthy designed and built the platform on WordPress with Elementor:

A bold, dark visual identity with saffron accents and full-bleed performance photography that reflects the energy of Therukoothu.
An artist directory organised by art form, from Silambattam Nadanam, Mayilattam and Oyilattam to Kollattam, Gramathu Kummi and Poikaal Kudhirai, with ratings, review counts and booking counts on every card.
A guided “Book an Artist” request form that captures the event type, date, location and the performance the host wants, so the team can match the right troupe.
A “Why Book My Koothu” section explaining vetted performers, secure payments that are held and released as the booking progresses, and genuine ratings and reviews.
A “Partner With Us” path for artists to sign up and get listed, plus a page for the mobile app.

Results

Book My Koothu now gives Tamil folk-art a professional, searchable home online. Event hosts can go from discovering an art form to sending a booking request in minutes, artists have a profile that shows their ratings and past bookings, and the platform is ready to grow with more art forms, troupes and cities.
